Lordshill is a neighbourhood in Southampton, England. It is situated in the northern part of the city in the Coxford electoral ward . The area is mostly residential housing with over 4000 [ 1 ] mixed council and private dwellings for a population of around 12,500.
The Marlands Shopping Centre was constructed to a PostModern design, which was described at the time of opening by one critic as looking like "something made of Lego". The centre was built on the site of Southampton's bus station (the city is now without such a facility), a popular rose garden and some terraced housing.

According to the Anglo-Saxon Charter of 956 Aldermoor, Lordswood, Lordshill and Coxford are all within the ancient boundary of the Manor of Millbrook and were farmland within the county of Hampshire, until the 20th century when it was absorbed into Southampton.

Portswood is a suburb and electoral ward of Southampton, England. The suburb lies to the north-north-east of the city centre and is bounded by (clockwise from west) Freemantle, Highfield, Swaythling, St. Denys and Bevois Valley. Portswood Ward comprises Portswood, Highfield and St. Denys, and had a population of 14,831 at the 2011 Census. [1]
