The college offered a pioneer program in nursing, the 4-year baccalaureate program which conferred upon its graduates the degree of Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). The existing nursing program in the country then, was the hospital-based School of Nursing, which conferred upon the graduates the title of Graduate in Nursing (G.N).
In 1947, the College of Medicine was added. In 1948, it became the Manila Central University after opening the College of Nursing and Graduate School. In 2010, Manila Doctors College was renamed into Manila Tytana Colleges. The same year, the new name was registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), while the operative date of use was set to June 1, 2011. The College of Nursing, retaining the former name of the college, is now called Manila Doctors College of Nursing.

The Cyberjaya campus has seven faculties, namely the Faculty of Engineering (FOE), Faculty of Computing & Informatics (FCI), Faculty of Creative Multimedia (FCM), Faculty of Cinematic Arts (FCA), Faculty of Applied Communication (FAC) and Faculty of Management (FOM). The Melaka campus was founded in 1997 and is the secondary campus of MMU.
