In 2022, It was ranked as the 5th best university in Nigeria by Times Higher Education World University Rankings. [5] [6] FUTA is 3rd in the 2024 Scientific Index Ranking of Universities in Nigeria [2], 7th in Webometrics Ranking [7], and 3rd in Times Higher ranking of Nigerian Universities. [8]
The university consistently ranks as one of the best in Nigeria. [23] In September 2016, it became the first Nigerian university to make the top 1,000 in Times Higher Education rankings. Prior to that, it had always made the top 10 African Universities in Webometrics Rankings.
