The widespread use of computers and the advent of the Internet have made it easier to plagiarize the work of others. [1][2] Detection of plagiarism can be undertaken in a variety of ways.
The issue of false positives is known and not trivial. Turnitin has expressed a willingness to adapt their algorithm specifically for Wikipedia, to design and develop it, and to test it in a pilot program.
