Known as Wharf Street, the road consists entirely of a 0.15-mile (0.24 km) segment of the former Sag Harbor Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It runs from an intersection with NY 114 (Bay Street) to the end of the pier on Gardiners Bay. The Sag Harbor Branch was abandoned in 1940, and the road was established in 1949. It is not signed.
