Jordan City accumulated some success in 1855 and 1856 with the addition of a post office and a handful of businesses. In 1860, the neighboring settlement of Brentwood was surveyed by S. A. Hooper, J. H. Gardner and R. W. Thomas. The two settlements competed until a legislative action consolidated them into the village of Jordan in 1872.
Jordan Township is a township in Fillmore County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 412 at the 2000 census. Jordan Township was organized in 1858, and named after the Jordan Creek. [3] Jordan Town Hall was built in 1877 by Thomas Ferguson, a Scottish immigrant stonemason. [4] [5]

Bear Creek drains the lower part of the county, discharging into the Root in the eastern part of the county.
