Mar 2, 2015. #1. I have a 2008 Sprinter 3 liter V6 144" wheel base with 52,000 miles. My UltraGauge scanner started showing 2 trouble codes: P040B was EGR Sensor B Circuit Hi and. P2457 was EGR cooling system performance. Finally the check engine symbol went on. However, everything continued to run fine.
2007 MB sprinter v6 3.0. The famous code 2623 charge air system offset drift at idle. I have replaced all o-rings and gaskets from air filter into turbo, from turbo and trough the intercooler, and into engine. Changed air filter, checked connections and lubed them with dielectric grease, still the code is there, and I cannot clear it--.
I would anticipate 25/30k a year. I am 66. I doubt I have more than 15 years of driving a rig like that left. Sad but true but for many of us our Sprinter's lifespan could exceed our own, or at least the length of time we will be driving it.
For anyone dealing with very persistent p242f or p2626 on an 07, 08, 09 Sprinter only: Unplug the DPF differential pressure sensor located above the DPF under the van. Turn the key to position 2 and read codes. P2626/p242f will be replaced by DPF sensor fault code. Turn off key.
In the end they got it done. Thankfully I had the provided them with the original ABS/ESP module so it was on hand, because sounds like they had to re-install the original ESP unit to copy the programming/coding from it, then copy it over to the replacement unit. All in all it cost me about CA$400 to have it done, not too bad.
The relay is a 25.00 part from the local Dodge dealer. I diagnosed mine when the shifter wouldn't operate by tapping the relay and having the shifter start to work. replaced the relay and have had no problems since. But the relay is an easy repair compared to the brake light switch.
