Midreshet Ben-Gurion (Hebrew: מִדְרֶשֶׁת בֶּן גּוּרְיוֹן), also known as Midreshet Sde Boker, is a community settlement and an educational center in southern Israel. Located in the Negev next to kibbutz Sde Boker, it falls under the jurisdiction of Ramat HaNegev Regional Council. In 2022 it had a population of 1,938. [1]
The station is located on HaHaroshet Street and is connected to the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev by Mexico Bridge, a covered pedestrian walkway. Another covered pedestrian bridge from the station leads to the technology office park located across the rail yard to the north.
The Institute runs two department: The Department of Environmental Hydrology and Microbiology, and the Department of Desalination and Water Treatment. [7] It also offers an MSc degree in Hydrology and Water Quality, in collaboration with the Albert Katz International School for Desert Studies, which is located at BGU's Sde Boker Campus.
Between 1996 and 2010, he served as chairman of the faculty association of the university and from 2005 to 2010, also as the chairman of Coordination Council of the Faculty Associations of the Israeli Universities. In 2010, he was elected as Rector of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
