Maine/Africa. Nov 7, 2010. #1. I have decided on my specs for first tactical rifle and gunsmith and it will be started shortly once the parts arive. Now I have to pick a scope for it. I will be doing from 100 to 1000 yard shooting. Looking at either the Schmidt & Bender PMII 12-50x56 or a March in the same power range.

Swarovski turrets leave alot to be desired and their durability is untested. Swaro soes have great glass but so does S&B. Alot of hunters really like the Swaro's, if your gonna zero and not touch the turrets ever ...

Double turn, lots of elevation, zero stop, FFP, mil/mil, good parralaxe adjustment, how the knobs feel, more tactile clicks, MTC as S&B calls it.
Jan 31, 2020. #1. Yes, I believe my Schmidt & Bender needs to go in for repairs. The scope is a 5 -25 PM II, (two years old), it sits on my Accuracy International At rifle in 6.5 CM. I noticed this issue with a fish eye type spot on the inside on the glass (see picture). For those of you that have dealt with repair in the past.

Dont quote me but I believe it was 550 to swap a reticle and Ive done this a couple times. and yes they change knobs which ive also done a couple times. I dont remember what that cost on latter..They do a great job and make sure everything is perfect.
Jan 13, 2011. #4. Re: Schmidt & Bender selection HELP. The 4-16x will do the job you described. If you later want to use it on a longer range rifle, you might regret your choice. The 5-25x covers 16x, so you can always dial it down. As mentioned, there is an annoying tunneling effect at 5-8x or so in the 5-25x.
MSR. H2CMR. P4 fine. Mount will be the 34mm Spuhr 1 piece with 0MOA (SSG 08 .308 has a 20MOA pic rail for scope), height TBD. Please help with decision to go 5-25x56, 4-16x50, 3-12x50, for range shooting out to 1000 yds and then move the scope over for hunting out to 500 yds most likely. Range/Hunting reticule of MSR, H2CMR or P4 fine for both ...
I really don’t want to go over 2 pounds, lighter is better for me with this rifle. The three I’m looking at now are the Nightforce nx8 2.5-20, Schmidt and bender t96 polar 3-12, and the Swarovski z6i 2.5-15.
