The present church building was founded as Horbury Chapel, and used by the Hornton Street Congregational church, Notting Hill, in 1849. [1] The building was purchased in 1930 by George Jeffreys. [2] who, in 1935, renamed it as Kensington Temple, Church of the Foursquare Gospel [3] [4], becoming Elim's flagship church.

[7] Two campus buildings, Genesee Wesleyan Seminary, and Genesee College Hall , were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976.

[4] On July 13, 1986, the church opened a radio station named "Radio Restoration" which became one of the country's top religious radio station ever since. In 1988, the attendance rose to 20,000.
