The original building was 43,500 square feet, including a pool, fitness centre with racquetball and squash courts, meetings rooms (including a large auditorium) and lobby space. The Churchill Meadows Community Centre is known to host a variety of family oriented events throughout the year and is popular among families with young children.
Ward 10 of Mississauga, Ontario held many public gatherings to discuss the community centre and its design. On December 15, 2016, a concept design photo of the development was released to the public. To date, $360,000 has been spent on the $51 million landmark project.
The Meadowvale Community Centre was renovated in July 2014 and re-opened in fall 2016. Meadowvale is the former home to Burlington Twins of the Intercounty Baseball League from 2009-2010 before moving to Burlington.
