Shriram Sharma Acharya, also known as Vedmurti Taponishtha Pandit Shriram Sharma Acharya, dedicated his life to elevating human consciousness, culture and civilization by synthesizing science with spirituality. Shantikunj was established in 1971 by Shriram Sharma and Bhagwati Devi Sharma on a small piece of land. [ 2 ] [ 4 ] It was expanded over Gayatri Nagar. Shantikunj and Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya functions under the Shri Vedmata Gayatri Trust, headed by Mrs. Shailbala Pandya.

He had assisted Shri Krishnadatt Paliwal in Hindi daily Sainik where he had his own daily column Matta Pralap. [2] He has authored more than three thousand books including bhashya of ancient Hindu scriptures.
Bhagvati Devi married Shriram Sharma in 1946. [4] She assisted him in managing All World Gayatri Pariwar (AWGP) and after his death, she succeeded him as head of AWGP. [ 5 ] Her followers call her Mataji ( transl. respected mother ).
