The Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is a public community college in New York City. Founded in 1963 as part of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, BMCC grants associate degrees in a wide variety of vocational, business, health, science, engineering and continuing education fields.
BMCC generally serves geographically isolated populations that have no other means accessing education beyond the high school level. [2] It provides online classes to a community beyond its geographic area. BMCC offers free tuition to U.S. Federally recognized Tribal Members. BMCC also authorizes charter schools in the state of Michigan. [3]
UTA opened a $39.9 million engineering complex in 1989. [1] In 1991, the Engineering II building was renamed Nedderman Hall. [226] Total campus construction costs during Nedderman's tenure (1972–1992) were over $158 million. [227] UTA unveiled a 20-year master plan in October 1999, the school's first master plan in 33 years.
These costs factor in tuition, housing, food, university fees, and supplies such as textbooks, manuals, and uniforms. Two year public universities, such as a community college, factor in tuition and fees, and have an average yearly cost of $3,730. The average tuition and fees for for-profit institutions were 14,600. [1]
Tuition and fees do not include the cost of housing and food. For most students in the US, the cost of living away from home, whether in a dorm room or by renting an apartment, would exceed the cost of tuition and fees. [7] [9] In the 2023–2024 school year, living on campus (room and board) usually cost about $12,000 to $15,000 per student. [7]
Until recently, Greenland's 56,000 citizens went about their lives on the sparsely populated mid-Atlantic island far from the glare of international attention.
