Kurumi, Tsuan, Yui, and Isami fight, with Isami wanting to avenge Ayame's death at the hands of Panie. Hibiki reunites with Kurumi and they escape. Tsuan kills Isami, but Yui proposes an alliance to kill White Queen after learning the wish is a lie and that White Queen plans to destroy the Neighboring World.
While Kurumi is threatening the school and the town, Origami and Tohka are engaging in battles with other copies of Kurumi. Shido convinces Kurumi only for her to be killed by another Kurumi, since she can twist time using <Zaphkiel>. As Tohka and Origami show up, it's revealed that the hands in Kurumi's shadow are actually the hands of past ...
This time, however, Shido refuses to lose hope and continues fighting until Kurumi's last surviving clone arrives to assist him. She reveals that, before her death, the original Kurumi sent her to the future. Unfortunately, even this last Kurumi clone falls before Mio, but her sacrifice causes Shido to understand Kurumi's plan.
Kurumi Tokisaki attacks a D.E.M. facility and finds the captured Spirit Nia Honjou, codenamed "Sister." Sometime after the most recent events, Shido has been receiving medical checkups from Reine to confirm his health after having to seal the Spirits' magical energy in his body for an extended period of time.
After crossing, he is surprised by Kurumi who then asks him on a date all of a sudden. Shido thinks of rejecting her invitation but is curious about her acting out of character, adding on with her fake crying, he eventually agrees to do so. After looking at many delicious foods being sold at the festival, Kurumi brings Shido to the Planetarium.
Not giving up, Kurumi leads Shido to meet her past self (eye-patch Kurumi) with the method to alter history. Eye-patch Kurumi is initially skeptical but after communicating with the Kurumi in the present, they reach an agreement. Eye-patch Kurumi sends Shido back in time a few hours, thus giving him a second chance to change history.
Moreover, Shido and his companions face the opposition of the AST (Anti-Spirit Team), a special unit designed to suppress the threat posed by Spirits by eliminating them, which is backed by DEM (Deus Ex Machina) Industries, a conglomerate led by Sir Isaac Ray Pelham Westcott who intends to exploit the powers of the Spirits for his own agenda.
