The store at 63 – 65 George Street and a large part of 57 – 59 George Street were demolished in 1952–53 after damage by fire. The remainder of these buildings were demolished to make way for extensions to the Old Sydney Inn (now the Park Royal) in 1980 into which the Harringtons Building at 53 - 55 George Street was incorporated.
