Coyotes is an American Western song written by Bob McDill and closely associated with cowboy singer Don Edwards. [1] It appears on Edwards' 1993 album Goin' Back to Texas, [2] and was featured on the soundtrack of the 2005 documentary film Grizzly Man.

Don Edwards (March 20, 1939 – October 23, 2022) was an American cowboy singer, guitarist, and recording artist who specialized in Western music.Two of his albums, Guitars & Saddle Songs and Songs of the Cowboy, are included in the Folklore Archives of the Library of Congress.
His songs were also recorded by popular artists of the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, including The Grateful Dead, Ray Charles, Joe Cocker, Anne Murray, and B. J. Thomas. His music credits in film include Primary Colors , The Thing Called Love , Texasville , and the documentary Grizzly Man .
