International (high speed) services operate to countries such as the Netherlands, France, Germany, Luxembourg, Austria and UK. On 22 December 1995 NMBS/SNCB and CFL made a joint order with ACEC-Transport (subsidiary of GEC-Alstom) for 80 units; [1] [5] Alstom's offer was costed at 140.5million Belgian francs per locomotive; NMBS/SNCB and CFL ordered 60 and 20 units respectively of identically specified locomotives, with deliveries beginning in 1998. NS International ordered 16 V250 trains from AnsaldoBreda, with NMBS/SNCB ordering a further 3 sets. They were used on Dutch domestic services and NS International services to Brussels. NMBS/SNCB Class 41 DMUs are diesel multiple-unit trains operated by the National Railway Company of Belgium (NMBS/SNCB). They are the standard train for Belgian internal workings which cannot be worked by EMUs. They work under the 25 kV electrification in the South of Belgium as well as on the non-electrified lines in the North.
