Rogvolod probably was named in honor of his ancestor Rogvolod. Some historians, including Mikhail Pogodin, believe that Rogvolod-Boris are two different princes.

Vseslav's second born son, Gleb Vseslavich inherited the lands surrounding Minsk and started the Minsk branch of the princes of Polotsk.
