Arizona. Mar 17, 2020. #8. The biggest difference between the German and all other origins is the vintage German barrels are 1:12 twist. For hunting, the 1:12 is accurate with a bit lighter bullet. A hunting partner of mine has a German made MK V 300 Wby which shoots sub MOA out to 500 with lighter bullets.

Idaho. Dec 2, 2020. #13. Check out AG Composites carbon fiber stocks, They have Weatherby stocks in stock, but they may need to build a perfect fit LH'er for you. I also have McMilllan and Manners stocks, and I prefer AG Composites. 1/4 the turn around time of a custom Manners and IMO better quality.

  8. mounting screws for Weatherby Mark V - Long Range Hunting Forum

Most Remington factory screws are too short anyway. Makes a build look super sharp when the screws are perfectly fit. Get a proper fitting hollow ground slotted head driver for the Weatherby screws and you can torque them as high as 65 inch pounds without them slipping. Once bedded I only torque them to 45 inch pounds.

  9. Rebarreling my Weatherby 7mm - Long Range Hunting Forum

Apr 21, 2022. #4. I would agree with option 1. When I decided to rebarrel my 7mm Weatherby, I ended up having a 3 contour 9 twist Bartlein put on it and I have no regrets for a sporter hunting rifle. At the time I was pricing, Weatherby was a little more expensive than ordering a Bartlein and having the local gunsmith install it.

  10. Weatherby Mark V Accumark | Long Range Hunting Forum

71, a Mark V is minimum $1500 with a light sporter barrel with the Accumark over $2000. You can build a darned nice rifle for that on a Remington action. I think you could save some $$$ with the build. I only own Weatherbys which I purchased for their caliber and classic style. Good luck and be happy with your choice.
