Barrow-upon-Soar railway station (formerly known as Barrow and Barrow-upon-Soar and Quorn) serves the large village of Barrow-upon-Soar in Leicestershire, England. The station is located on the Midland Main Line between Leicester and Loughborough , 108 miles 52 chains (174.9 km) north of St Pancras .
Barrow-upon-Soar railway station is situated on the Midland Main Line, and East Midlands Railway trains stop there Monday to Saturday, there is no Sunday service. Organised quarrying of the granite in Mountsorrel Quarry began in the late eighteenth century, and had around 500 employees by 1870.
The house was first built as a log house in 1810, and remodelled by Charles Davis in 1847. [2] His son, Sam Davis, who became known as the "Boy Hero of the Confederacy", grew up in this house.
