The central focus of the SCP wiki is the SCP file (commonly referred to as just "an SCP"). It is a set of in-universe technical documentation supposedly compiled by the Foundation in an effort to understand, analyze, experiment with, and most importantly contain, the anomaly.
WikiDot (the wiki organization that hosts SCP Wiki) charges wiki owners to enable SSL on their wiki, and does not support SSL with custom domain names. They refuse to invest the token effort that would be needed to greatly strengthen their security. Which means it should come as no surprise that a malicious third party got in to all their systems.
The SCP wiki has been around since 2008, 14 years, that's honestly probably older than 50% of the people on this sub. It has to evolve, one way or another, if the wiki still had Series 1 type articles where "{thing} does {thing} and oohhh so very scary humanity scared!", be real, it would get boring.
Thread gets wiped and restarted from time to time. Not by design but because a moderator trying to move a forum topic from one subforum to another can accidentally press a button that deletes all the forums.

Every time I go to the site, or google a specific scp, there's a bunch of different websites that all host the same content. scpwiki.com, the-scp.foundation, and scp-wiki.wikidot.com. I'm just wondering which one I should be using. Like, which one's ad revenue goes to the best place.
Something that's bugged me for a while is that a lot of key information about the Occult Wars is scattered across dozens of different SCP Wiki articles and tales, plus posts on other sites like Reddit, which makes finding and cross-referencing it all a chore.

AdminBright, the original author of the character Dr Bright, has been permanently banned from the SCP wiki for repeated sexual harassment. This was something that had been going on for a long time but he had avoided consequences until now due to his role in staff. Not anymore.
