They used the same body as the OM-1, so the battery compartment is sized for a 625 mercury cell; but there's a crescent-shaped spacer in it so that two LR44 cells can be used. I have an OM-1n. I've had it modified to use a 625 silver oxide cell (1.5v), and had the meter calibrated. The 625 cells are a little harder to find than the LR44s.
105. Posted December 8, 2006. I just bought an OM-2. I searched, but couldn't find a specific recommendation. for the batteries. A guy on ebay sells some 1.5V AG13 batteries (he claims. comparable to A76, 357, LR44, and SR44), but I would like to know the best ones. for longevity, with correct voltage, of course. Your recommendation please.
2. Posted April 22, 2012.
I have a Nikon F2 and I believe my battery is dead. I'd like to replace it but I'm not sure what batteries I should purchase. The manual mentions 1.5V Silver Oxide batteries but I'm not sure if there's a specific size as well that's required. Also the batteries at stores don't mention voltage levels.
.
The F2 needs 2 simple 1.5V (e.g. SR44) batteries or one 3V lithium, everywhere available. If your DP-1 doesn't work, well, this can have other reasons. Many of these finders give up life after 30 years and need a CLA. The weak parts are a ring resistor inside the finder and the CDS-cells. A Nikon service shop can fix it.
15.5k. Posted May 16, 2013.
I'd also supect poor quality Alkaline cells being at fault rather than the camera. The FE2 (and nearly every other MF Nikon film body) will also take a single 3 volt CR-1/3N Lithium cell instead of two SR44s. IIRC my FE and FM were both supplied from new fitted with 3v Lithium cells and my F2s and F3HP are all ...
175. Posted March 23, 2011.
When I replaced Mamiya 7II with a Duracell A544, which indicates that it is the equivalent of 4LR44, the camara ceased to function. As I was shooting with light snow falling, I thought I fried Mamiya's electronics.
. I was about to send the camera to Mamiya for repairs, I fortunately found a spare 4LR44 battery ...
2. The mercury battery "dies" with a sudden death. The meter reading will be O.K. untill the last moment. The alkaline battery dies very slowly and gives inaccurate readings during this proces.
So forget about the alkaline batteries.
In many countries the mercury batteries are still for sale.
54. Posted April 16, 2007. Sara, It should take two alkaline button cells, number LR44 or equivalent. Duracell also makes a battery that is the equivalent of two, stacked together LR44 batteries, but I don't know the number. One of these should work also.
Posted July 26, 2013.
(2) 3/n three volts each batteries can be stacked inside the battery housing, HOWEVER the inside of the housing must first be lined to prevent short circuit. this can be done with a sheet of thin plastic rolled like a cigarette and slid into the housing to protect the batteries from contacting the metal walls inside.
An easy solution, if you have another camera with a good meter as a reference, is to use a longer lasting 1.5 volt MS-76 battery. You then adjust the ASA dial on the C35 to get the correct reading and you are good for that day. Greg Weber can adjust the camera for 1.5 volt batteries. You can reach him at (402) 721-3873 or gweber@webercamera.com ...
