Renaissance Hotels was founded as Ramada Renaissance in 1981, as an upscale brand of Ramada Inns. Hong Kong–based New World Development (NWD) acquired Ramada in 1989 and re-launched Renaissance Hotels as a separate brand.
The 500-room hotel opened its doors in July 2006 and is run by Marriott under their Renaissance brand. The property features a 100,000 sq ft (9,300 m 2 ) exhibition hall, 48,000 sq ft (4,500 m 2 ) of meeting room space, and a 28,000 sq ft (2,600 m 2 ) ballroom, all of which can be divided to provide many configurations.
