This book was the predecessor of the Boss General Catalogue and was written by Lewis Boss, Benjamin Boss's father in 1910. It was a list of the thought to be proper motion of stars. [ 6 ] As per the name, Lewis Boss 's catalogue intended to have a successor, the role of which was taken by the Boss General Catalogue . [ 2 ]

Ltd. was founded in 1844 by Henry King Lewis (born 10 February 1823 in Margate, died 30 January 1898 in Hastings) [1] [2] at 15 Gower Street as a small bookselling and stationery business. [3] In the 1871 census he had expanded his business and become a publisher.
Best Products Company, Inc., or simply Best, was a chain of American catalog showroom retail stores founded by Sydney and Frances Lewis in 1957 and formerly headquartered in Richmond, Virginia. The company was in existence for four decades before closing all of their stores by February 1997 and completely liquidating by December 1998.
This publication replaced the Preliminary General Catalogue of 6,188 stars of Lewis Boss, and it became known as the Boss General Catalogue. (Star designations that began with GC are from this catalogue.) [8] Boss died on October 17, 1970, in Albany, New York. [9]
The GC contained 5,079 entries. Later, a complementary edition of the catalog was published posthumously as the General Catalogue of 10,300 Multiple and Double Stars. The small "h" followed with the catalogue entry number represented the item. [4] In 1878, John Louis Emil Dreyer published a supplement to the General Catalogue. [6]

In March 2006, Argos carried out a trial of a new catalogue branded Argos Home in over 100 stores in the United Kingdom. This proved successful, and on 5 August 2006, it launched the second Argos Home catalogue, this time in all 200 Argos Extra stores. The catalogue only contained home furniture and styling tips for the current season.
