The Southeast Asian Volleyball Association, is the governing body for the sports of indoor, beach and grass volleyball in Southeast Asia. [ 1 ] In the spirit of the FIVB 2001 Plan, AVC was the first to create five Zonal Associations at the 10th General Assembly in December 1993 prior to the FIVB Centennial Congress in September 1994.

The Singapore women's national volleyball team represents Singapore in international women's volleyball competitions and friendly matches. They qualified for the 1987 Asian Women's Volleyball Championship .
The Singapore women's national under-18 volleyball team represents Singapore in women's under-18 volleyball events. It is controlled and managed by the Volleyball Association of Singapore (VAS) that is a member of Asian volleyball body Asian Volleyball Confederation (AVC) and the international volleyball body government the Fédération Internationale de Volleyball (FIVB).
The Sports Hub was to include the new stadium, as well as a new aquatic centre, indoor arena, and recreation facilities. Alpine Mayreder, Singapore Gold Consortium, and the Singapore Sports Hub Consortium (SSHC) submitted bids for the project, which included the new National Stadium and its surrounding facilities, in February 2007.
