But maybe you installed programs, then uninstalled them- but the folders remained there hence the extra folders or files.

I had this problem with Task Manager. When you dragged the window around the screen it would be on top of the taskbar. To fix: open task manager -> Go to options (top left next to "File") -> untick option "always on top". Not sure if I did this myself or if it was always on. Share.

Sounds like you may be in "Focus Mode" for Windows Terminal. That's how focus mode operates (no title bar, no tabs, but will create new tabs with Ctrl + Shift + T). Try pressing Ctrl + Shift + P to get the Command Palette, then find and select "Toggle Focus Mode". Then go into Settings and see if "Launch Mode" is set to "Focus".
