The Apple TV 4K, Shield TV, Roku, and Fire TV devices can all automatically switch into HDR w/ Rec. 2020 color space, when needed, and otherwise maintain SDR w/ Rec. 709 as the default. I would also really like to see an app agnostic automatic native framerate switching mode as well, similar to the Apple TV, and Roku.
If DirecTV does add Movies Anywhere support this means any titles "purchased" through DirecTV from Sony Pictures, Universal Pictures, Warner Bros., and Walt Disney Studios (and all their subsidaries) will be stored in the Movies Anywhere digital locker and added to any other linked retailers (like Apple iTunes, Amazon Prime Video, Vudu ...
So the answer is with AirTV and Sling (FREE), no need for subscription. You can watch and record shows OTA, using AirTV2 or AirTV AnyWhere. I am doing it here with AirTV2. There are bugs, and im not sure if its AirTV/Sling or the $10 Tb USB HDD I'm using. But overall I'm happy with it, and will happily address any other questions you guys might ...

Tonight I was successful is adding Dish Anywhere on the Fire Box. Thank you! I do get the Dish guide, but no live TV as I do not have the Hopper, but all of the On Demand channels and movies are there. Really cool! Glad I bought the Fire Box. Too bad Roku doesn't have the Dish Anywhere app.
Thanks for the info, ok so I have the Direct TV HD Receiver (doesn't seem to have a model number anywhere) but I just got and is a re manufactured unit from Direct TV and says built in 2009. I also have a Tivo Series 2 I used with a old SD DirecTV box that broke.
