The CT6-V served as a launch platform for Cadillac's hand-built 4.2-liter Blackwing twin-turbo V8, generating 550 horsepower (410 kW) and 640 pound-feet (870 N⋅m) of torque. The CT6-V also included all-wheel drive, making it the first V series ever to feature AWD, and the first Cadillac sedan ever to feature a V8 with AWD.
The Cadillac Blackwing V8 (GM RPO LTA) is a twin-turbo DOHC V8 engine that was produced by the Cadillac Division of General Motors solely for use in its CT6-V and CT6-Platinum model years 2019 and 2020. It is a clean sheet engine design, as well as the Division's first ever twin-turbo V8 engine.
