  2. 414/421 - you make the call - Pilots of America

    www.pilotsofamerica.com/community/threads/414-421-you-make-the-call.41708

May 6, 2011. #4. 421, no questions. Quieter and more capable. You can make the geared engined hit and exceed TBO, I've seen it done. That's really the only difference between the planes is the engines and the 414 is just to weight and performance limited for having the big airframe.

  3. Why should I not buy a Cessna 421.?? - Pilots of America

Wayne Bower used to say that you could operate a similar turboprop for about the same as a 414/421, and he's right. So, why to buy an MU-2: 1) It's not an airplane for everyone, but it is a good fit for a professional who will fly it the way it needs to be flown. Zeldman is a professional, he will do fine with it.

Cessna 421B Fuel System. ### It is against the APC Forum Rules to advocate any labor action which is not authorized by the RLA/NMB. This applies to ANY wildcat actions, including slowdown, work-to-rules, withdrawal of enthusiasm (WOE), sickouts, etc. It is irrelevant whether the union itself has anything to do with the action.

Feb 24, 2012. #4. Last I heard, Lycoming sold some parts for the P-Navajo engines, but overall the -541 engines are no longer supported. Continental does still support the GTSIO-520 engines. As I recall, the two aircraft were overall pretty well-matched competitors. So they'll probably arrive at about the same time.

The plane is quiet inside for a piston twin. We fly 421C models with the 90 inch prop turning at 1800 rpm in cruise. It is quiet enough for the med crew to have normal conversation with the patient. Although we do require the med crew to use headset during the flight. Our useful load is 1400 lbs.

  7. What's a 421 good for? - Pilots of America

iFlyNothing. Mar 4, 2018. #14. The 421 has a high useful load (much higher than the 414) and if you’re stopping every 2.5 hours for fuel then I’d question how rich you’re running it. Most people plan 50 gallons first hour, 40 thereafter. If treated properly the engines are supposedly reliable.

In the b model the nose itself was stretched 25 inches. Also the Google machine came up with this. "However, many 421Cs may have the 262-gallon, two-nacelle-tank system—and still have air-conditioning. These aircraft are equipped with the popular JB/Keith Electric Air-Conditioner. Ted DuPuis said: I don't have one, but if you're going to be flying Twin Cessnas, they do have a good owner's group: www.twincessna.org. The forum isn't very active, but most of the folks on there are 421 owners/pilots. I'm the little guy in the 310. I don't know how much flying I'll be doing on it, but I'll definetly look into that forum. Thanks.

Cessna's "wide oval cabin" design made for a lot of room in the club seating. The long nose baggage area was spacious. Pilots: The 421 is a great "fingertip" airplane that is a joy to hand fly. I did part 135 checkrides in the airplane, and manuvers such as steep turns were a snap.
