Calipari wanted Kentucky because he knew the brand mattered. The resources mattered. Kentucky wanted Calipari because he was one of the best coaches in the country at time. That mattered. Cal will continue having success at Arkansas. That doesn't mean the Kentucky brand never mattered. Cal has a ton of NIL at Arkansas. NIL has changed things.

Would rather have 4 star recruits that can shoot, dribble, play defense, pass and play team ball. Just saw where Cal is getting a little worried about the AR fans expectations.
Kentucky basketball has had peeks and valleys and in the years prior to Cal we were at the very bottom of a valley. I'm not gonna shamelessly shill for Cal, but he should get his flowers for what he did for Kentucky's brand and recruiting was the caveat of that turnaround.
