Re: Anyone have a simple furniture making contract to share? I have never gone beyond 2 pages with a quote. Most of my work is case work, I will describe the material ( 3/4 inch thick, veneer core maple plywood produced in North America, dovetail drawers etc etc).

    forum.canadianwoodworking.com/forum/woodworking/...

Max drawer width. 09-15-2012, 10:04 AM. A question aimed more at the pros really. I am having a 'debate' with a designer at the moment about drawer widths in an office we are working on. She is specifying custom filing drawers 38" wide, 20" deep and 14" tall. This will take two rows of hanging files.

Minwax does an Ebony. There's Black milk paint that can be thinned to allow grain to show. Or get some lamp black from a paint store and mix into clear poly or brushing lacquer. The vinegar and steel wool ebonizing fluid only works well on woods with a lot of tannin, but you can always wet the wood with cold tea first to add tannin.

  8. Best wood for a canvas stretcher frame?

    forum.canadianwoodworking.com/forum/woodworking/...

So the printed canvas is actually 6" bigger in each dimension than the finished face, you need to add 1 1/2" for the side and 1 1/2" to be able to grip, stretch and staple it. A quick snap shot showing various traditional framing options vs a canvas wrap. Last edited by Don Kondra; 03-21-2011, 01:18 AM.

  9. Table saw overhead dust collection for ~$40

    forum.canadianwoodworking.com/forum/workshop-talk/shop...

Table saw overhead dust collection for ~$40. I was looking at purchasing a commercial overhead collection system for ~ $350 but wasn't impressed that they are mostly 3" mains with an even smaller guard/collection head. Another thing I didn't like was having to run another hose to the overhead.
