In the Groove is the eighth studio album by the American soul musician Marvin Gaye, released on August 26, 1968, on the Motown-subsidiary label Tamla Records.It was the first solo studio album Gaye released in two years, in which during that interim, the singer had emerged as a successful duet partner with female R&B singers such as Kim Weston and Tammi Terrell.

"Groove On" was the follow-up to " Come Inside ", which had achieved success on the Billboard Hot Dance Music Club Play and 12-inch Singles Sales charts in 1991.
Some of the songs received airplay on MTV, including "Therapy" and "Punk It Up". Steve Huey from AllMusic praised the album, calling it "an unabashed good-time party record". The album charted at 198 on the Billboard 200 and 6 on the Billboard Heatseekers .
