The Bottle (1924), Alabama. Nehi (/ ˈ n iː h aɪ / NEE-hy [2]) is a flavored soft drink that originated in the United States. It was introduced in 1924 by Chero-Cola/Union Bottle Works and founded by Claud A. Hatcher, a Columbus, Georgia, grocer who began bottling ginger ale and root beer in 1905.
Bottles were originally ribbed, and were made of brown glass at one point. [2] Initially, Orange Crush came in the ribbed or "Krinkly", clear glass bottle. The brown (amber) glass bottle was introduced in 1937, and is known as the "Krinkly Brown" bottle. The bottle design changed again in 1955, leaving the amber glass and "krinkles" behind.
