Along Came a Spider is a crime thriller novel, and the first novel in James Patterson's series about forensic psychologist Alex Cross. First published in 1993, its success has led to twenty-six sequels as of 2021. [1] It was adapted into a film of the same name in 2001, starring Morgan Freeman as Cross.
The movie was a loose adaptation of the series’ second book of the same name. A second installment also starring Freeman called “Along Came a Spider,” released in 2001.
Four years after Kiss the Girls, a film adaptation of Along Came a Spider was released. Morgan Freeman reprised his role. Later, the franchise was rebooted with a 2012 adaptation of the novel Cross, titled Alex Cross, starring Tyler Perry in the title role.
