The Live Oak School District contains 6 schools in Live Oak, Santa Cruz County, California. The district was founded in 1872 by Martin Kinsley, an Irish immigrant. The first school in the district was the Live Oak School House. The superintendent, Lorie Chamberland, was appointed in 2018.
The Antioch Unified School District was formed in 1921 from the Antioch and Live Oak school districts. Formal education in Antioch began in 1850, in a converted ship's galley, with a 12-year-old girl as the sole teacher.
Live Oak Union High School was established in 1903. At the organization of Live Oak Union, previously existing rural school districts Highland, Burnett, San Martin, Machado, and Morgan Hill were included, and, in August 1921, Coyote, Llagas and Uvas districts were added to what eventually became Morgan Hill Unified School District.

In 1940, a new campus was built on the north side of town, along Monterey Street, between West Central Avenue and Keystone Avenue.
