The seat of Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly , the seat of government of Arunachal Pradesh, and the seat of Gauhati High Court permanent bench at Naharlagun are all in Itanagar.

Tawang is a town and administrative headquarter of Tawang district in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh. [1] [2] It lies on NH-13 section of Trans-Arunachal Highway.The town was once the headquarter of the Tawang Tract, which is now divided into the Tawang district and the West Kameng district.

The Itanagar Sanctuary is rich in biodiversity. The animals found in the sanctuary include tiger, leopard, clouded leopard, Asian elephant, gaur, sloth Bear, Barking Deer, marbled cat, capped langur, slender loris. The state bird hornbill is a regular sight in the sanctuary. The white winged duck (Cairina scutolata) is also found. [3]
