Mohican State Park is a 1,110-acre (450 ha) public recreation area located on the south shore of Pleasant Hill Lake, five miles (8.0 km) south of Loudonville in Ashland County, Ohio, United States. [3] The state park is located along Ohio SR 3 and Ohio SR 97 and is surrounded by the 4,525-acre (1,831 ha) Mohican-Memorial State Forest.
Pleasant Hill Lake is a 783-acre man made lake located near Perrysville and between Ashland and Richland counties in Ohio. Completed in 1936, Pleasant Hill Dam was built on the Clear Fork of the Mohican River. The dam which forms the lake is a 113 ft (34 m) tall earth-fill dam. It is located in Ashland but the lake extends into Richland.
The following is a list of lakes in Ohio.According to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, there are approximately 50,000 lakes and small ponds, with a total surface area of 200,000 acres, and among these there are 2,200 lakes of 5 acres (2.0 ha) or greater with a total surface area of 134,000 acres. The ovoid-shaped pool was built in 1934, with funds from the David Weir Estate and maintenance support from the Weirton Steel Corporation. The main entrance to the pool features Art Deco style design features. [2] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993. [1] The pool was demolished in December of 2022.

Mr. Kirkwood read law, became prosecuting attorney of Richland county, and after the close of his term, removed to Iowa, became governor of that state; was later a senator in the congress of the United States and closed his official career as a member of the Garfield cabinet.
The site is on a high hill just north of the junction of Clear Creek and the Black Fork of the Mohican River. [1] The reference to the village sitting on a "high hill" counters many popular misconceptions that the village was in low-lying areas that would later be submerged by the damming of the ClearFork River to create Pleasant Hill Lake.
