227 is an American sitcom television series created by C.J. Banks and Bill Boulware, that originally aired on NBC from September 14, 1985, to May 6, 1990, with a total of 116 episodes over the course of five seasons. The complete first season was released on DVD on September 28, 2004.
227 aired back-to-back episodes on Logo starting at midnight on New Year's Day 2016. In January 2017, the series began airing on Antenna TV; in 2021 it began airing on sister network Rewind TV. The series started airing on OWN weekend nights starting December 2, 2017. In Canada, 227 is available online, broadcast, and on demand by CTV.

Halroy Candis Williams [1] (born December 14, 1938) [2] is an American actor, best known for his recurring roles as Police Officer Smith ("Smitty") on Sanford and Son (1972–1976), Harley Foster on The Waltons (1973-1980), and as the patriarch Lester Jenkins, the husband of Marla Gibbs's character, on the NBC sitcom 227 which originally aired from 1985 until 1990.
In the spring of 1985, Goodwin was cast as Tiffany Holloway on the NBC sitcom 227 as a series regular during the show's first season. Goodwin's mother was unhappy in California and wanted to move back to New York, so she was let out of her contract and written out of the series after the second season, where Goodwin was now a recurring guest star.
