The International Airlines Travel Agent Network (IATAN) is a Miami-based trade association in the United States representing the interests of its member companies and the U.S. travel distribution network (travel agencies). [1] [2] It is an independent department of the International Air Transport Association (IATA). [3]
According to IATA, as of 2023 the trade association represents 317 airlines, [3] including major carriers, from over 120 countries. [4] The IATA's member airlines account for carrying approximately 82% (2020) [8] of total available seat miles air traffic. IATA supports airline activity and helps formulate industry policy and standards.
