Shaikhupur Tehsil (Urdu: تحصِيل شَيخُوپُور), is an administrative subdivision of Shaikhupur District in the Punjab province of Pakistan. [1] The city of Shaikhupur is the headquarters of the tehsil.
Sheikhupura is the headquarters of Sheikhupura district. According to the 1998 census of Pakistan, the district had a population of 3,321,029 of which 25.45% were urban. [ 3 ] In 2005 one of its subdivisions was split off to form the new Nankana Sahib District .

The city is tehsil headquarters of Sharaqpur Tehsil of Sheikhupura District. Its urban area is approximately 600 acres. Until 2005 it was a tehsil of Sheikhupura District, but in that year Sheikhpura was bifurcated and the district of Nankana Sahib was created. - with Safdarabad as one of its tehsils. Now at present (since 01-12-2008), once again Safdarabad has been rejoined with Sheikhupura as a Tehsil of it
It is part of the Ferozewala Tehsil of Sheikhupura District. [1] Kala Shah Kaku is on the M-2 motorway and Grand Trunk Road (GT Road) 19 km west from Lahore . [ 2 ] It is the main entry point of Lahore from Peshawar , Rawalpindi , Sialkot , Kharian , Gujrat , Jehlum , Wazirabad and Gujranwala via GT Road.
