Le Roy, or more commonly LeRoy, is a town in Genesee County, New York, United States. The population was 7,662 at the time of the 2020 census. [2] The town is named after one of the original land owners, Herman Le Roy. [3] The town lies on the southwestern edge of Monroe County. Within the town is a village of Le Roy.
Le Roy is located in eastern Genesee County at (42.975656, -77.990792), [7] southwest of the center of the town of. According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.7 sq mi (7.0 km 2), of which 1.65 acres (6,678 m 2) is water.
A post office in LeRoy has been in operation since 1871, with James E. Bevins serving as postmaster from 1871 to 1895. [4] In 1871 S.L. Kimball, M. Westfall and James Bevins settled in the area, [5] the village of LeRoy was incorporated by an act of Congress on February 2, 1873. [6]
The Perry Village Market & Cafe, which opened in 2017, encompasses 4,800 square feet, more than the double the size of the 2,000-square-foot shop that was based in the plaza.
LeRoy Place in 2024. LeRoy Place is the former name of a block of Bleecker Street between Mercer and Greene Streets. This was where the first palatial "winged residences" were built. The effect was accomplished by making the central houses taller and closer to the street, while the other houses on the side were set back.

The Le Roy Commercial Historic District is a commercial historic district in downtown Le Roy, Illinois.The district includes 27 buildings, 25 of which are contributing buildings, on the 100 through 300 blocks of East Center Street and the 100 block of North Chestnut Street; it also includes the Town Park at the west end of East Center Street.
