The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro (Latin: Archidioecesis Cagayana) is an archdiocese of the Catholic Church in the Philippines. It is a metropolitan see on the island of Mindanao , which comprises the civil provinces of Misamis Oriental and Camiguin , as well as the municipality of Malitbog, Bukidnon .

Saint Peter (Binukid: Sintpiter; Sumpilen, in Cebuano orthography Sumpilon) is a rural barangay in the Upper Pulangi District of Malaybalay City, Bukidnon. Baungon is located in the northern part of Bukidnon, about 132 kilometres (82 mi) north of Malaybalay City via Cagayan de Oro, which is about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from Imbatug, the town's poblacion. It is bounded on the north-east by the Libona , at the south by the Lantapan , and on the west by Talakag .
The diocese was erected on April 25, 1969, as the Territorial Prelature of Malaybalay. On November 15, 1982, the prelature was elevated to a full diocese. [3]The diocese is a suffragan of the Archdiocese of Cagayan de Oro.
