Tanzania Federation of Co-operatives, earlier known as the Co-operative Union of Tanganyika, [1] is a national organization of co-operative societies in Tanzania. [2] The organization was registered in 1994 with members from Tanzania's Tobacco , Cotton , Coffee , Cashew , Cereal and other produce industries.
Significant measures have been taken to liberalize the Tanzanian economy along market lines and encourage both foreign and domestic private investment.Beginning in 1986, the Government of Tanzania embarked on an adjustment program to dismantle the socialist economic controls and encourage more active participation of the private sector in the economy.
It is organized by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, which was founded by George Howell, Susie Spindler and Silvio Leite.
