Jacobs Music Center is a performing arts theater in San Diego, California. It opened in 1929 as Fox Theatre, a Gothic Revival–style luxury theater. It was conferred to the San Diego Symphony in 1984. The center is also the location of various youth orchestra concerts, including the San Diego Youth Symphony's, and a conservatory.

Landmark Theatre Corporation began as Parallax Theatres and was founded in 1974 by Kim Jorgensen with the opening of the Nuart Theatre in Los Angeles, the Sherman in Sherman Oaks, the Rialto in South Pasadena, and the Ken in San Diego. Steve Gilula and Gary Meyer became partners in 1976, as the chain expanded as Landmark. [5]
When fire destroyed San Diego's Old Globe Theatre in 1978, the Spreckels hosted the Globe's 1978-79 season. [ 6 ] Between July 2015 and July 2019, TBS has rented the theater for a week for Conan O'Brien to host his self-titled talk show from the theater to correspond with that year's San Diego Comic-Con .
