Lisa Nicole Lopes (May 27, 1971 – April 25, 2002), also known by her stage name Left Eye, was an American singer, rapper, and songwriter.She was a member of the R&B girl group TLC, alongside Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas.
TLC and the Chicks, a country band, are the only two female ensembles to receive the RIAA diamond award, which indicates sales of 10,000,000 copies. According to Billboard , TLC is the second most successful girl group on the Billboard charts , behind the Supremes.
In order to preserve the TLC name, Watkins is now named "T-Boz", while Lopes became "Left Eye" and Thomas became "Chilli". The successful group sold more than 65 million records. [6] T-Boz has won four Grammy Awards as a member of TLC. [7] Since Lopes' death in 2002, T-Boz and Chilli have performed as a duo.
