The last time they changed the name everyone still called it Sierra Mist, and by the time any fountain labels were changed to "Mist TWST", they were already bringing back the Sierra Mist name. That said, the logo and label are pretty decent designs. Better than the crap they usually rolled out for Sierra Mist.
Pepsi just can't leave this drink alone. The new name is a downgrade. And the new look is a lateral move. Best name and look was when it was know as Storm before Pepsi went with Sierra Mist.
If the name "Sierra Mist" is back, this would please me. It would be an admission that "Mist Twst" (not even "Twist", but "Twst"!) was a mistake. That name just reeks of corny forced EXTREEEM!! branding, an approach which clashes badly with a citrus-flavoured soda. By the way, I had not seen (or had forgotten) that 2010-2011 logo. It is superb.
Spotted a bottle of Sierra Mist Cranberry Spash (delicious, btw!) in the store tonight... with yet another new Sierra Mist logo. For those counting, that's 7 (SEVEN!) since 1999.1999-2001:2001-2006:2006-2008:2008-2010:2010:2010-2014:
Guessing that the clippers can be ruled out just based on it being year 1 in the new set and new arena. 5 years ago for the 2019-20 season, the teams with classic editions were Warriors, Sixers, Pacers, Magic, Hornets, Clippers, Rockets, Raptors, Grizzlies, Blazers, Kings, Cavaliers, and Jazz
I believe that initial league font started in 2003. A nice artifact of the Sierra Mist tramp stamp ad era. Another fun fact is that it only came in white or black, which looked great as you can imagine.
Sure, change the jerseys. Leave the name. There's too much history (mostly bad, but still history) associated with the Cardinals name. Not many people know it, but this is the NFL's oldest franchise. The Cardinals actually predate the Packers by more than 20 years, and nobody wants to change anything about the Packers...leave the Cardinals be.
Ask Mozilla how using that name works out legally. I do love the Vultures suggestion. How about the Arizona Phoenix and use that mystical bird as the logo? Really though, the NFL wouldn't be the same with the name Cardinals and that white helmet with the red bird logo on the side. Don't even update the helmet, ever.
Here's my unsolicited top/bottom five list. Granted, this could change with number font and placement. Top 5. 1 - Philadelphia 76ers (I love the Spectrum look, especially this version in white. This would be a fun regular alternate).
The story behind the change confirms my suspicions: The team owners bought the leftover basketball jerseys from the local college, who dropped the "Wolverines" basketball program a while back. The team will be wearing them in games, and thus the "Krunk Wolverines." Wow. How much lower can the ABA sink?
