The name was changed from North American Baptist Seminary to Sioux Falls Seminary on May 18, 2007. In July 2009, the seminary moved into a new, environmentally friendly campus in central Sioux Falls, nestled on the eastern edge of the Augustana University campus. The institution is now known as Kairos University.
The church was founded in 1883 as Swedish Baptist Church [1] and is home to Central Preschool and Kindergarten, the largest preschool in South Dakota. Today they serve the general Sioux Falls area, and have services at 5:00 pm Saturday and 8:30 am, 9:45 am and 11:15 am Sunday.

The Diocese of Sioux Falls operated Columbus College, a high school and college for Catholic boys, at this location until 1921, when the college was moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In 2020, St. Joseph's Indian School (kindergarten through eighth grade, K–8) served 221 students. [ 5 ]
