The 2020 Missouri gubernatorial election was held on November 3, 2020, to elect the governor of Missouri, concurrently with the 2020 U.S. presidential election, as well as elections to the United States Senate, elections to the United States House of Representatives, and various state and local elections.
As is the case in many Southern and border states, there was a stark racial divide in voting for this election: White Missourians supported Trump by 62%, while black Missourians supported Biden by 88%. Trump became the first-ever Republican presidential candidate to win Missouri by double digits twice. [48]
The poll found that 52% of those surveyed would vote for a Republican candidate for governor while 38% would vote for a Democratic candidate. Only 8% said they were not sure.
In addition to the U.S. presidential race, Missouri voters will elect the Governor of Missouri, four of Missouri's other executive officers, all of its seats to the House of Representatives, all of the seats of the Missouri House of Representatives, and 17 of 34 seats in the Missouri State Senate.
