It was listed in the Phoenix Historic Property Register in May 1990 and in the National Register of Historic Places on July 3, 1986, reference #85001475. Boundary adjustments were made in June 2006. It was relisted in the Phoenix Historic Property Register in October 2010.

The Arizona Science Center in 2021. Heritage and Science Park, located between East Monroe, East Washington, North 5th and North 7th Streets in downtown Phoenix, Arizona includes Heritage Square – a historic site anchored by the Rosson House – the Arizona Science Center, and the building of the former Phoenix Museum of History.
This site was known as Neahr's Park and covered two blocks on West Washington Street between 10th and 12th Avenues, halfway between the court house and the capitol. The land was donated to the city by Mr. Neahr. [2] In the spring of 1905 the city approved the plans for the new building as drawn by Phoenix architect William R. Norton. [3]
