[1] She was known for her work as a solo performer and as a member of the Happy Goodman Family—which originated with her husband and his brothers and sisters—one of the pioneering groups in southern gospel music.

[4] Holden (née Russell), who was born in Thomaston, Alabama on February 2, 1910, died in Detroit, Michigan on May 5, 2020, aged 110 years, making her a supercentenarian.
